It was great to see so many system installers at the Pumper & Cleaner Environmental Expo International last week in Indianapolis. Many of you stopped to see me at the COLE Publishing editors’ booth and you attended Education Day seminars in great numbers. I always say many of the industry’s best contractors attend the Expo, and your constant attention to continuing education proves that!

The Expo seems like the unofficial kickoff to the new busy summer season, as installers see new products in the exhibit hall, then take home new technology ideas to improve service to their customers. I heard from a number of installing pros that they’ve already locked down a lot of work for 2014 and are expecting to stay busy with an improved outlook for new construction and demand for replacement systems.

So, that reminds me to ask about your next tough job challenge. If you have an interesting project coming up – whether you’re dealing with severe topography, poor soils, tight spaces or other issues – drop me a line and tell me about it. You can reach me at editor@onsiteinstaller.com. I’m on the lookout for more System Profile features for the upcoming summer, and would love to shine a spotlight on your business.

It’ll be exciting to see you next year with the inauguration of WWETT, the Water and Wastewater Equipment Treatment and Transport Show, as it will come to be known. For 2015, the Expo is being renamed to more accurately reflect the industries served by COLE Publishing magazines.

The 2015 WWETT show will be held at the Indiana Convention Center Feb. 23-26.
