Ditch Witch launches maintenance program

The Charles Machine Works Inc., manufacturer of Ditch Witch construction equipment, introduced Orange Armor, a flexible planned maintenance program to help customers protect their equipment investment. The program is available through participating Ditch Witch dealerships.

 

PASEO honors Longwell for service

Gil Longwell, Onsite Institute director, received the Dean Shultz Outstanding Service Award from the Pennsylvania Association of Sewage Enforcement Officers for 25 years of service to the organization. The annual award is presented to a sewage enforcement officer who has demonstrated sustained commitment to the association. A former PASEO administrator, Longwell established the Onsite Institute and is a frequent contributor to COLE Publishing magazines.

 

Pentair restructures water disposal business

Pentair’s Residential and Applied Waste Water pump business has been restructured as part of the broader Flow Technologies Global Business Unit realignment headed by Gary Witt, president.

 

Atchia, SJE-Rhombus recognized for technical leadership

Julian Atchia, director of engineered products for SJE-Rhombus, was recognized by the Hydraulic Institute for technical leadership and contributions to the creation of ANSI/HI standards. Atchia worked to update the standard for Rotodynamic Submersible Pumps for Hydraulic Performance, Hydrostatic Pressure, Mechanical and Electrical Acceptance tests, ANSI/HI 11.6-2011. The revised standard changes direction and represents a departure from the previous standard (ANSI/HI 11.6-2001) in that the submersible pump is guaranteed and tested as a complete close-coupled unit.

 

SSPMA welcomes Superior Pump, holds spring meeting

The Sump and Sewage Pump Manufacturers Association (SSPMA) welcomed Superior Pump of Minneapolis, Minn., to its membership. Superior manufactures sump, sewage, effluent, utility and backup pumps.

The association also held its spring meeting in February in Indianapolis. The program featured four plumbing contractor representatives from the Indiana Association of Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors. Topics included industry trends, pump distribution, training and education needs for employees and time demands for handling service calls.

 

State, association replace septic for low-income family

The New Mexico Environment Department’s Liquid Waste Program and the Professional Onsite Wastewater Reuse Association of New Mexico collaborated to help a low-income family in northern New Mexico fix their faulty septic system. POWRA-NM donated equipment, supplies and manpower to complete the replacement. Funding was provided by the Office of the National Resource Trustee. ONRT and NMED have an ongoing program to assist indigent households within the Middle Rio Grande Basin eliminate illegal cesspools or substandard household septic systems that threaten water quality and public health.

 

Quanics hosts June nitrogen reduction webinar

Quanics will host a free webinar, “Nitrogen Reduction Plain and Simple,” from 1-2 p.m. EDT on June 20. The presentation will provide an overview of the technology, design requirements and management options necessary for the successful implementation of decentralized wastewater strategies.
