SJE-Rhombus names sales representative

SJE-Rhombus named Northeast Sales Associates to represent its product line in Upstate New York. NESA’s sales team includes six outside representatives, two inside sales/service associates, quotation manager and office manager.

Thompson Pump holds Pumpology School

Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Co. held its 23rd annual Pumpology School in April at its corporate facilities in Port Orange, Fla. More than 50 attendees from 15 states and seven foreign countries took part in the three-day workshop that included training sessions for sales and service professionals.

Grundfos breaks ground on North American headquarters

Denmark-based pump manufacturer Grundfos broke ground on its North American headquarters building in Downers Grove, Ill. Pursuing LEED Silver certification for the site, the facility will feature low-flow water fixtures, Energy Star-approved office appliances, heating, ventilation and air conditioning free of chlorofluorocarbon-based refrigerants. Up to 75 percent of construction waste will be diverted to recycling facilities, with office furniture, carpet and ceiling tiles featuring at least 20 percent recycled materials.

Liberty Pumps participates in Corporate Challenge

Liberty Pumps entered a team of 46 employees in the annual 3.5-mile Rochester Chase Corporate Challenge road race at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y. Almost 11,000 runners from 460 companies participated, with proceeds going to the YMCA. Top finishers from Liberty were Andrew Fink in the men’s division with a time of 27 minutes, 53 seconds and Danielle “Dewey” Lovett in the women’s division with a time of 32:18.

Sim/Tech receives patent for sludge sampling device

Sim/Tech Filter received U.S. patent 8,261,622 for its TruCore sludge sampler. The 8-foot device handles sludge found in septic tanks, as well as water in advanced treatment systems. It also is used for sampling grease traps, stormwater, settling ponds and by the oil industry.
