The National Onsite Waste-water Recycling Association (NOWRA) will hold its third annual Installer Academy, Dec. 10-12, at the Riviera Hotel, Las Vegas, Nev.

This specialized training program provides skills and technical knowledge installers and service technicians need to build effective, long-lasting systems and comply with regulations. The program includes an education and training program for new practitioners, business sessions, manufacturer product-training workshops, and an exam for the National Environ-mental Health Association Certified Installer of Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems national credential.

All seminars and workshops are state-approved for CEUs. Practi-tioners will share their technical skills in design, installation, inspection, operation and maintenance, helping installers to do a more professional job and run more successful businesses. Topics covered will include:

• Design and installation of conventional and alternative systems.

• Qualities needed to provide operations and maintenance services for conventional and non-conventional systems.

• Emerging issues to be addressed in system inspection and troubleshooting.

Training rooms are available for manufacturers to provide attendees with hands-on instruction on equip-ment and products. These sessions enable participants to learn directly from the source about control panels, pumps, filters, wastewater treatment systems, and other products and technologies. Manufac-turers who want to reserve a training room may download the Request for Training Rooms at www.nowra.org.

The event will include a Roe- D-Hoe backhoe competition with prizes sponsored by the Bobcat Co.

The Exhibit Hall will again display the latest onsite products, services, and technologies. Attendees can talk with company representatives during luncheon and afternoon breaks, at the welcome reception Monday evening, and at the social gathering Tuesday evening. Register by calling 800/966-2942 or visit www.nowra.org.
