Ad Sizes and Pre-Press

Basic scanning work and typesetting services are provided at no charge.
Pre-press work requiring more than the normal production time will be billed
on an hourly basis. Original photos give best results, and can be color or
black and white. Reprints and additional pre-press services also available.

Prepared Digital Advertising

Digital files must be Macintosh based to a specific ad size in the following industry
standard software programs:
• QuarkXPress 6.0 • Adobe Photoshop 7.0 • Adobe Illustrator 10
High resolution pdfs are also accepted; please call for exact specifications.

Acceptable Types Of Storage Media: (Proof required with disk)

• CD-ROM • 100 MB Zip disk or 250 MB Zip disk
File must be to a specific ad size with all graphics and Adobe PostScript Type
1 fonts included. Grayscale images should be at 200 PPI or 100 lines per inch.
Four-color images must be in CMYK format and to final output size.
Image resolution should be at 266 PPI or 133 lines per inch.

FTP

Ads can be sent via FTP to COLE at any time utilizing the always available FTP site.
The sender must have an FTP client and can send the ads by using the following:

Ads should be within a folder titled with the company name and issue. No punctuation or characters other than standard letters and numbers are allowed on any files or folders, meaning slashes, asteriks, or the like. Ads should be stuffed or zipped when possible. Anything over 100 MB – please call or e-mail before uploading.

Mechanical Requirements

Web offset on 50# Gloss #5. Final trim size is 9" wide x 10.875" high.

Bleed Requirements

Full page ads only, no extra charge. Add .25" to all sides beyond trim size.
