Top-flight training for association leaders

Heads of NOWRA affiliate groups now can access leadership training through the Water Environment Federation

In one of the first tangible benefits of NOWRA’s closer relationship with the Water Environment Federation, NOWRA affiliate organizations can take WEF leadership training.

WEF will hold a leadership training event as part of its Member Association Leaders Summit in Alexandria, Va. on April 7. A similar workshop will be held during the 2010 WEFTEC conference in October in New Orleans. The program is especially helpful for executive directors, administrators, board members, and committee chairs from NOWRA affiliates. Topics will include:

Volunteer leadership training

How to obtain/retain board members and committee chairs

Board assessments: how to evaluate and plan for improvement

Succession planning

Marketing association activities

Managing revenue to sustain and grow the association

This opportunity is only available to NOWRA’s currently committed 2010 affiliate organizations. There is no cost, but pre-registration with WEF is necessary. Space is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis. For details, contact the NOWRA office at 800/966-2942.
