Bord na Mona President Speaks at Conference; Peat Named Director

Decentralized membrane-based treatment solutions are the key to solving future water restrictions, Shane Kearney, president of Bord na Mona Environmental Products U.S. Inc. told attendees at the WEFTEC Conference in October. “Many current municipal wastewater treatment systems are large centralized works that waste the water resource rather than reuse it and consume large amounts of energy to move wastewater from the source to the treatment plant,” he said. Kearney added that there is a need for treatment solutions that deliver reduced complexity, have a small footprint and are easily constructed within buildings to minimize aesthetics and odor concerns.

Raymond Peat also has been named director of business development for Bord na Mona Environmental Products U.S. Inc.’s North American residential and commercial wastewater and water reuse treatment systems.

Seepex Launches Wobble Pump Shop

The online Wobble Pump Shop from Seepex Inc. (http://shop.seepex.com) features the complete line of BW series Wobble Pumps. The site offers pump specifications, dimensions and performance curves as well as drive characteristics.

Ecoflo Biofilter Receives Top European Ranking

The Ecoflo Biofilter by Premier Tech Environnement received a top ranking for performance and reliability from Veolia Water Testing based on three years of comparative study of onsite wastewater treatment technologies in France and Germany, with peak flow up to 240 percent of the design flow. Results were released during the October onsite and decentralized wastewater treatment annual conference in Evreux, France.

Bear Onsite Launches Web Site

Bear Onsite LLC has launched a Web site for the onsite wastewater market, www.bearonsite.com, featuring the ML3-916 and ML3-932 effluent filters.

SJE-Rhombus Hosts Engineers; Names Representative

SJE-Rhombus hosted the Minnesota Chapter of the Society of Profes-sional Engineers in October at its corporate facility in Detroit Lakes, Minn. Guests received a factory tour, were introduced to SJE’s ceramic MBR technology and received training on engineered municipal control panel considerations.

SJE also has hired Snider Inc. to represent the company’s control product line in North and South Carolina.

Wieser Schedules Septic Training Seminars

Wieser Concrete will hold five septic training seminars in Wisconsin on March 9 in Fond du Lac, March 11 in Rhinelander, March 16 in Milwaukee, March 18 in Maiden Rock and March 23 in Portage. For more information, call 800/325-8456, or visit www.wieserconrete.com.

Glendon Selects Aquaworx IPC Panel for Pump Control

Glendon has selected the Aquaworx IPC panel for pump control in its up-flow biofilter systems. The biofilter treats residential strength wastewater to single-digit BOD5 and fecal coliform. The system includes septic tank, pump tank and a small pump controlled by a custom IPC Sandfilter panel set to time dose one or more units.
