Check out the Installer Academy

Fourth annual NOWRA academy offers solid education along with fun events like the Roe-D-Hoe competition.

This year the National Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association (NOWRA) Installer Academy piggybacks on the Pumper & Cleaner Expo in Louisville, Ky. The fourth annual Academy runs February 22-23 at the Kentucky Exposition Center, followed by the Pumper & Cleaner Expo, Feb. 24-27.

The Installer Academy is a unique education and training program created to advance the knowledge, skills and professionalism of installers and service providers in the decentralized wastewater industry. Topics covered this year include drip dispersal, installation of wastewater treatment systems, and onsite business strategies.

Attendees will be able to tour the Zoeller Pump Company plant in Louisville and take advantage of special vendor-sponsored product training rooms.

A highlight of the event is the Third Annual Roe-D-Hoe, in which backhoe operators test their skill in events that require high precision. Enter and you could with the $1,000 for first prize – plus a professional-wrestling-style championship belt.

Look for a complete agenda and registration information at www.installeracademy.com. You can visit www.pumpershow.com for a complete list of hotels available in the Louisville area. NOWRA recommends the Galt House Hotel & Suites downtown (502/589-5200; www.galthouse.com).

The early bird registration deadline for the Installer Academy is Feb. 15. Contact NOWRA at 800/966-2942 or e-mail to info@nowra.org for more information.
