In response to requests for affordable, accessible training, the WasteWater Education organization is offering a four-part series of day-long internet-based courses covering all aspects of fabricating, installing and maintaining precast concrete tanks. WasteWater Education, based in Michigan, has spent months developing an interactive platform for providing public and professional education content highlighting the advantages of distributed and decentralized wastewater technology.

The classes in November and December cover The Anatomy of Quality Precast Concrete Septic Tanks and are presented by Sam Lines, MBA, a sales/safety engineer, Lean coordinator with Concrete Sealants, Inc., and instructor for National Precast Concrete Association. Sessions are:

* Introduction to Precast Concrete: Is it cement or concrete? Why does it even make a difference?

* Fabricating a Watertight Precast Concrete Septic Tank.

* Implementing a Formal Quality Management System in a Precast Plant.

* Microbial Induced Corrosion: Causes and Methods of Prevention.

Also included will be classes on best practices for good installation given by NOWRA vice president Dr. Richard Otis P.E., using curriculum materials developed by Consortium of Institutes for Decentralized Wastewater Treatment.

Also offered will be a Build A Better Business series covering marketing skills and customer education, presented by Dendra J. Best, WasteWater Education executive director. The courses are geared toward wastewater service providers, installers, public health officials, and those requiring continuing education credits.
