Eljen B43 GSF
The B43 GSF (Geotextile Sand Filter) unit from Eljen, named from its modular dimensions of 4 feet by 3 feet by 7 inches, is an alternative onsite septic leachfield system. It uses a two-stage treatment process to improve effluent quality before dispersal. The primary treatment is where the open-air channels within the module support aerobic bacterial growth on the geotextile fabric interface and promote oxygen in the system. The secondary treatment zone is where effluent drips into the specified sand layer and supports unsaturated flow into the native soil. The specified sand layer protects the soil from compaction, which helps maintain cracks and crevices in the soil. It has the versatility of being used in trenches, beds or mounds with an enhanced nitrogen reduction. It has capacities to 1,600 gpm, heads to 170 feet TDH and temperatures to 250 degrees F. These pumps are designed with a variety of constructions such as cast iron, 316 stainless steel fitted, all 316 stainless steel, alloy 20 or CD4MCu. Additionally, the pumps are designed with a convenient back pullout cost-saving feature to allow for easy inspection or service/maintenance without disturbing the piping to the pump. The impeller has a fully recessed design, which accommodates passage of solids. All impellers have wiping vanes, which reduce axial loading and prevent dirt from entering the sealing area.
