Orenco introduces AX-Max and AX-Mobile treatment units

Systems are designed for larger-scale commercial and municipal treatment applications

Orenco Systems, recipient of the Water Environment Federation’s Innovative Technology Award at WEFTEC 2011 for its AdvanTex Treatment Systems, has added the AX-Max and AX-Mobile units. The systems use recirculating media filters to produce clear, odorless effluent with thorough nutrient-reduction, resulting in effluent suitable for irrigation or surface discharge after disinfection.

AX-Max units, for larger commercial/municipal systems, measures up to 42-by-7.5-8.5 feet and are a containerized, fully-plumbed plug-and-play systems designed for quick and easy installation above or below ground, in multi-unit arrays, and in harsh climates. The AX-Mobile, provides identical solutions and can be used for remote, temporary, or mobile applications.

The AX-Max unit reduces nitrogen up to 90 percnet depending on the configuration and when installed as a two-stage system can virtually eliminate ammonia. It processes up to 5,000 gpd of raw sewage or 15,000 gpd of primary treated effluent. It uses less than 2 kWh per 1,000 gallons treated, making it LEED-eligible. 800/348-9843; www.orenco.com.
