The second session on social media at the Expo's Education Day showed just how easy it can be to build a simple website. NOWRA executive director Eric Casey and co-presenters used the WordPress site to actually create the beginnings of a website for a lucky group of attendees from Davis Septic Service. They did it within the confines of an hour-long session on websites, their value, and how they interconnect with social media like Facebook and Twitter. In fact, they did it within the last 20 minutes of the session.
And by the way, Casey mentioned that people attending the Expo are almost by definition ahead of their competitors, He cited research showing that people who belong to industry associations and attend industry events on average earn $10,000 a year more than those who do not. So if you're here at the Expo, good for you. If you're not, consider coming in 2013, or better yet, drop what you're doing and head to Indianapolis for one or more of the next three show days, Feb. 28-March 1.
