This morning's Education Day at the Pumper & Cleaner Expo includes a couple of seminars on using social media like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. The first session took a basic look at these three leading social media sites.
About 200 people were in the room, indicating growing interest in social media and online marketing among people in our industry. One surprise -- to me anyway -- on a show of hands, about half the attendees said they had presences on facebook. One can easily assume that by the time those folks get home from the Expo, a larger percentage will be Facebookers. Getting started on these sites is easy; or to put it in more common business terms, there are low barriers to entry.
