An online presentation, “Introduction to Subsurface Drip Dispersal (SDD) under Freezing Conditions,” will be offered on Tuesday, July 10, at 2 p.m. Eastern time, as part of the Tuesday@Two education and outreach series offered by Michigan-based WasteWater Education.
The program describes the critical factors of design and site selection. Subsurface drip systems solve many problems with traditional wastewater dispersal. Since the effluent is dispersed underground where it is absorbed in the biologically active soil layer, there is no surface contamination, no ponding or runoff, and no odor. Overspray and aerosol drift are eliminated, and dose scheduling is unaffected by land use or weather.
With subsurface drip, primary or secondary reclaimed wastewater can be used, eliminating the cost of additional treatment for commercial, municipal, industrial, residential and agricultural applications. Several difficult terrain and climate site locations will be shown.
The presenter is Rodney Ruskin, CEO of Geoflow. There is no charge to attend, but space is limited to 45 reservations. To register, RSVP to info@wastewatereducation.org.
