California Onsite Water Association Soil Science Training

Who would benefit from this course? Registered environmental health specialists, registered civil engineers and other inspectors who conduct site and soils evaluations, onsite wastewater system designer/installers, and other professionals involved in water, soil, and contamination management. This course provides 16 continuing education hours of California Onsite Water Association and National Association of Wastewater Technicians approved training (accredited by the California Department of Public Health for Registered Environmental Health Specialist).

Course summary: This two-day workshop provides participants with a detailed understanding of how particular soils affect the treatment of sewage. Participants will learn to identify characteristics of soil and the components of an onsite wastewater treatment system, site evaluation and professional soil profile description. Participants will also receive instruction at a field location to practice the principles of site evaluation and characterize soils in profile trenches.
