The National Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association’s 22nd Annual Technical & Education Conference is a little more than a month away, Nov. 17-20 in Nashville, Tenn. Are you planning to attend, and what do you hope to take away from the event?

If you want to learn more about the NOWRA conference, the association has comprehensive information posted at its website, www.nowra.org. The site goes into details about the conference agenda, registration and hotel information and provides general descriptions of the education sessions.

Among the highlights are what NOWRA considers must-attend sessions:

• A look at how Tennessee is reorganizing its agencies to serve as a national leader in large-scale decentralized wastewater infrastructure.
• Design, engineering and technological trends in the development of high strength wastewater treatment.
• An exchange of ideas about standards of practice for onsite system design.
• A talk on U.S. Environmental Protection Agency guidance and management of onsite systems within the Chesapeake Bay watershed and how it may become a model for the rest of the country.
• How to combat the lack of federal funding for upgrading the nation’s decentralized wastewater treatment infrastructure.
