The Barnes EcoTRAN Pressure Sewer System is designed to make life easier for installers and operators while delivering reliable performance in residential wastewater applications. This all-in-one package includes everything needed for smooth installation and long-term operation, featuring the Razor grinder pump.
From the start, EcoTRAN is built for fast, hassle-free installation. The unit comes complete with direct burial cable, alarm box, gaskets, and waterproof connectors. Excavation is simple using a 36-inch auger or backhoe, and only 1/3 yard of concrete is needed for ballasting. The riser design allows depth to be set on the day of install, and three inlet positions offer flexibility for piping layout. The pump and level control drop into place without needing power until startup, and the flexible discharge connector helps prevent broken lines due to ground settling.
EcoTRAN uses the Barnes Razor ZOGP, a dual-stage centrifugal grinder pump that handles heads up to 200 feet and flows to 28 gpm. This pump is CSA listed and tested to NSF/ANSI 46 standards, ensuring quality, safety and reliability. Its patented axial cutter reduces solids like wipes and cloth, minimizing clogging and service calls. Unlike progressing cavity pumps, the Razor’s centrifugal design resists wear from pressure extremes and high flow rates, making it ideal for long-term use.
The system’s Environmentally Sealed Pressure Switch (ESPS) is factory preset and immune to grease buildup, eliminating the need for field adjustments. For sites preferring a traditional float switch, the optional SensaPro level system includes a single float with integrated high-level alarm and automatic start relay. With both options, all electrical components are housed in a watertight, fully epoxied enclosure, and the plug-and-play cord design means no rewiring or pump removal is needed for service.
Operators will appreciate the top-side maintenance design. There’s no need for confined-space entry — everything is accessible from above. The cover unlocks easily, and the level control can be removed without touching the pump. The pump-mounted check valve, discharge diaphragm, and anti-siphon valve are all serviceable from the surface. A two-point lifting harness allows quick pump removal with no unbolting, and the pump motor is bolted to frame components for straightforward repair. Shut-off and isolation valves are operated from above using a color-coded actuation cord.
The alarm box is low-profile, rust-resistant, and includes both light and horn alerts with a silence button. Brass padlocks secure both the basin and alarm box, keeping the system safe and tamper-proof.
Whether you're installing a new system or maintaining an existing one, EcoTRAN is engineered to reduce installation time, simplify service, and provide dependable performance. It’s a rugged, installer-friendly solution that helps operators keep systems running smoothly with minimal downtime.
