Using Orenco Systems’ AdvanTex technology, the AX-RT is a compact, plug-and-play wastewater treatment system. Engineered for homes, small commercial properties, new construction, tight lots, and sites with poor soil, the AX-RT can be shallowly buried and installed right behind a septic tank, as easily as a septic tank. The AX-RT unit’s compact design reduces costs for excavation and installation. That means property owners can buy AdvanTex quality at a competitive price.
Systems that use AdvanTex technology consistently produce clear, high-quality effluent that meets the most stringent permit limits and is ideal for subsurface irrigation and other water-saving uses. In the AdvanTex treatment system, household sewage flows into the processing tank, where it separates into scum, sludge and liquid effluent. Filtered effluent is dosed to the AdvanTex filter unit, where it trickles through sheets of synthetic textile. There, naturally occurring microorganisms remove impurities from the effluent. After recirculating between the tank and the AdvanTex filter, the effluent is discharged to the soil via irrigation or a drainfield.
AX-RT treatment units consist of sturdy, watertight basins that incorporate recirculation-blend tankage and discharge tankage into a single module, along with lightweight, highly absorbent, engineered textile media that treats a tremendous amount of wastewater in a small space. They are intended for small-flow applications that require an advanced secondary treatment system, including new installations, retrofits or repairs. They eliminate the need for separate recirculation and discharge tanks by performing both functions within a single module and are ideal for sites with shallow-bury requirements, sites with poor soils, or sites with small lot sizes.
AX-RT units treat wastewater flows of up to 600 gpd for the AX20-RT or 750 gpd for the AX25-RT. AdvanTex Treatment Systems are also modular — with proper flow-splitting, they can be installed in multi-unit arrays to handle higher flows. The AX-RT is passively vented and uses only $5-$6 per month in electricity. The unit is designed to be easily maintained with an annual service call, thanks to its accessible, cleanable filters and media. And its high-quality, high-head pumps last 35 years or more.
The AX-RT comes standard with Orenco’s VeriComm remote telemetry control panel and monitoring system. That means service providers can oversee the system from the office or from home.
Ultraviolet disinfection is an option that comes with the AX-RT. When added, it can reduce bacteria by 99.99%, allowing wastewater reuse for subsurface irrigation and other uses, depending on local regulations. The UV unit uses no chemicals, has no moving parts, and is protected in its own chamber inside the RT, requiring only a yearly lamp replacement.
