AX20 Brochure Image

AdvanTex AX20 units are a dependable, proven technology for treating residential septic tank effluent to better-than-secondary standards, including nitrogen reduction. AX20 treatment pods are sturdy, watertight basins filled with lightweight, highly absorbent, engineered textile media that treats a tremendous amount of wastewater in a small space.

Here’s how the system works: In the AdvanTex treatment system, household sewage flows into the processing tank, where it separates into scum, sludge and liquid effluent. Filtered effluent is dosed to the AdvanTex filter unit, where it trickles through sheets of synthetic textile. There, naturally occurring microorganisms remove impurities from the effluent. After recirculating between the tank and the AdvanTex filter, the effluent is discharged to the soil via irrigation or a drainfield.

AX20 units are primarily intended for residential applications that require an advanced secondary treatment system, including new installations, retrofits or repairs. AX20 units are ideal for sites with poor soils and small sites, especially those that require a compact “filter on top of tank” configuration. A single AdvanTex AX20 pod treats wastewater flows of up to 600 gpd. To handle higher flows, the modular AdvanTex system can be installed in multi-pod arrays.

The typical backyard configuration of an AdvanTex AX20 treatment system includes six main functional parts: VeriComm web-based monitoring system, processing tank, Biotube pumping package, AdvanTex filter, recirculating splitter valve, and the ClickTight wiring connection system. Other configurations are available.

The AX20’s pump runs only a few minutes an hour, using just a few cents’ worth of electricity a day. Because solids decompose in the processing tank, the tank requires pumping only every eight to 12 years under normal use. Using little energy, generating a minimum amount of sludge, and purifying wastewater for beneficial reuse, AdvanTex AX20 systems are one of the most environmentally sustainable technologies for home wastewater treatment.

More than 53,000 of Orenco’s textile filters have been installed at homes, businesses, and community treatment systems around the world. Third-party testing shows that AdvanTex treatment systems beat out the competition when it comes to treating wastewater. And field testing shows that AdvanTex treatment systems work under real-world conditions.
