PuraSys SBR offers sequencing batch reactor technology in a modular package, which Anua asserts can be installed in less than two hours to bring advanced treatment to any standard septic tank.
“The system uses a step-fill process. The reactor fills several times during each batch. At the start of each cycle, effluent is brought from the pretreatment compartment to the reactor chamber,” says Colin Bishop, president of Anua. “The effluent is aerated so that nitrification will occur. Effluent is then brought again from the pretreatment compartment to the reactor chamber. This provides an anoxic carbon source that is ideal for denitrification.”
