Gravity dosing distribution boxes are used to evenly spread treated wastewater from the septic tank to the drainfield, maximizing its life by preventing overloading with controlled, timed doses, reducing clogging and ensuring consistent, energy-free treatment. Their main applications are upgrading standard gravity systems, extending drainfield longevity and providing a simple, passive alternative to pumped systems for better effluent management.
The Rewatec dosing distribution box from Premier Tech Water and Environment combines dosing and distribution in a single, energy-free unit with no mechanical parts. It features seven distribution outlets, an 18-gallon reservoir and a dosing device that can adjust doses between 12 and 18 gallons. Its lightweight plastic design also makes it easy to handle and install, according to Kyle Dierolf, product manager of Premier Tech Water and Environment.
“Our clients appreciate having all the advantages of our D-box without having to pay more than other products on the market,” says Dierolf.
Designed for soil absorption systems that benefit from improved distribution, the Rewatec dosing distribution box is ideal for traditional drainfields as well as combined treatment-and-dispersal configurations. It was developed to address uneven wastewater distribution in gravity systems, which is one of the main factors that lead to localized saturation and premature drainfield failure. Traditional systems are only able to send smaller doses that discharge through the first portion of the field but not the rest, leading to saturation near the inlet.
However, with its 18-gallon reservoir, the Rewatec dosing distribution box delivers larger, more consistent doses with enough velocity to reach the full length of the field. This helps maintain even loading across the entire absorption area and reduces the risk of early system failure.
The Rewatec gravity dosing distribution box uses no electromechanical parts or electricity to operate. The floating plate is the only component, and everything is made of durable plastic. On top of being easy to install and maintain, you can open it by simply popping the lid, so there’s no need for tools or dismantling.
While it is compatible with any gravity-based system, Dierolf says that the Rewatec gravity dosing distribution box is an excellent complement to combined treatment and dispersal systems that rely on even dosing and distribution to protect against premature wear.
